Martin Dubé
Originally from Hearst, I came to Thunder Bay in 2009 to pursue a career in aviation and to rock climb. I worked as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with special training in avionics (airplane electrical work), then project manager, and finally as a Director of Maintenance.
After 14 years in aviation I was ready to switch gears and pursue a career in green energy and I realized there were many transferrable skills. My experience as an AME has been invaluable in installing and maintaining solar panels while also having the experience of project and maintenance management. I then completed training in solar panel installation and maintenance and achieved my Solar Installation masterclass certificate. I also went to Peterborough to become a certified energy advisor so I have a full understanding of home building science along with modelling software to make homes as efficient as possible.

My wife and our two kids love to enjoy the outdoors rockclimbing, sailing, camping and fishing. I am dedicated to making solar energy in Northwestern Ontario more accessible to all!

Jon Hollway
Jon graduated from Lakehead University in 2014 with dual degrees in Natural Science and Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism. Since graduating, he has worked extensively in the outdoor industry guiding every craft that floats on water, while simultaneously owning and operating a small-scale regenerative farm with his wife Alyssa. His extensive outdoor knowledge has also led him to work throughout the many backroads of Northwestern Ontario as a forestry technician, while his insatiable drive for adventure keeps him exploring in every medium possible including snowkiting, fishing, and canoeing. Most recently, Jon has followed his passion for helping to create a better, more sustainable future by joining the Shift Power team in 2023 – through this work he is eager to play a role in the continued growth of the solar industry in Northwestern Ontario.
